Bend (Guitar)

A curved line with an arrowhead (plus a fraction or the word 'full') telling a guitarist to push the string sideways after picking, raising the pitch.

How to perform it

Pick the note, then push or pull the string across the fretboard until the pitch reaches the marked target — 'full' means up a whole step, '1/2' a half step.

Left: what the tab shows — the number 7 on the G string with a curved arrow rising to the word full. Right: what you hear — the pitch bends up a whole step after the pick, with no new attack.
